Let's imagine the information architecture and integration employed in just this Operational Instructions window. The Part No., OEM, Primary Product Line are from the Part Master. The tooling location is from Tooling Maintenance. You can see the bar code labeling information next. The OSHA Safety Checks are determined from operation information as is the Next Op. The safety checks required are shown here but actually enforced in Time Tickets when an operator begins a running production. The checks must be re-performed any time there is a crew change or maintenance. The Process Instructions are displayed. The Work Center information on the right is formatted based on the type of equipment. If it were a welder it would be formatted completely differently. If the parts were being run in a different machine, the numbers would reflect the unique settings for that machine. On the bottom of the page is the approving authority information as well as the revisions. You can enter comments to the tool room to indicate minor things that should be corrected or enhanced the next time the tool is in for maintenance. There is much more, but the purpose here is give you a glimpse of the thoroughness employed by Leading Edge IT Architects while applying technology to business processes. |
